Unable to read EAS ALARM sequence from NXP ICODE SLIX or SLIX-S

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TRF7960

We have a reader design based on the TRF7960.  We have successfully implemented all the commands associated with NXP's ICODE SLIX and SLIX-S transponders except the EAS ALARM function.  When this command is issued, the ICODE SLIX or ICODE SLIX-S remains silent indicating an error condition.  The EAS mode was enabled.  Thanks for any advice on how to solve this problem.

  • and you followed what is their custom command 0xA5? shown here on page 28, table 58?
    www.nxp.com/.../SL2S2602.pdf

it is standard ISO15693 custom command format - please double check that your request flags (including the option flag bit) match the choice you have made with the command options.

if possible, can you send over the string that you are sending out?

    thanks!
