How to change smartRF06-XDS100-V3 display ID

Hi,

I connect two smartRF06+CC2650EM in my PC, but there is only one device display in flash programer 2. I find out the two smartRF06 have same ID(XDS-06EB_PREPA)

please tell me how to change ID or how to resolve this problem. thanks

Hi,

You need the following tool from FTDI: www.ftdichip.com/.../Utilities.htm

Once downloaded, start the GUI tool (FT_Prog.exe). Connect one of the EB boards to the PC and click the magnifying glass (Scan and Parse) in the FT_Prog tool. It should find the SmartRF06EB and list the serial number.

To change the serial number, select "USB string descriptors" on the left side. On the right side, you will get some options to set the serial number. From the GUI, you cannot set the serial number exactly as you like, but you can use the "Prefix" option to select the first two characters of a new serial number. Select any prefix value you like and click the lightning bolt button (Program Devices). Power-cycle the board and scan for devices in the GUI. The EB should now come up with a randomized serial number (with the first two characters as set in the prefix).

You can use the command line version of the tool for more options. Generate a settings XML file from the GUI, then do the required modifications in a text editor and run the command line tool with the XML file as one of the arguments. Please refer to the FT_Prog documentation for how this works.
