ABout the Antenna design of the NFC keyboard

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TIDA-00217

Hi TI's guys:

I am working on a Battery-Less NFC project. Now I am confused with the antenna of the TI's reference design for nfc wireless keyboard. Are there two antennas required?Do I need to design the antenna myself? If so,can you give me some examples?

Best Regards,

Jay

  • In this keyboard design, it uses two seperate antennas to enable higher power energy harvesting.  There is also TIDA-00217 design which uses the same antenna for both communication and energy harvesting.  Each TI Design is an example of such antennas.  Also, see the app note below.

Generally, the antenna is designed by the board designer, but there are some off the shelf type antennas available.  The app note below shows some of these antennas from Premo and Neosid.
