CC debugger not showing any LED light

Hi,

There are a lot of threads in this forum discussing several issues (like yours) and solutions regarding CC Debugger.

For starters it would be nice to know if CC debugger is detected by smartRF flash programmer.

All in all, a goog place to begin with can be found in CC debugger user's guide, section 8.

Please find attached the screenshots of the SmartRF flash programmer window when I try to program the firmware and bootloader into CC debugger.

The CC debugger's LED remains OFF during the session.

In the first image, when you click on "perform action", the firmware is being downloaded, or not?

I don't know how to check for the download of firmware, but the LED on CC debugger hasn't blinked even once for the total period.

Hi,

During the following procedure, please ensure that nothing is connected to CC debugger,
and CC debugger itself connected with an USB cable to a PC.

1. Select "Program Evaluation board", highlighted
2. Then select the right firmware, highlighted
   (FW path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Texas Instruments\SmartRF Tools\Firmware\CC Debugger\cebal_fw_srf05dbg.hex)
3. The click on "Perform Action", marked with red pen

NOTE: Through the FW downloading process the LED on CC debugger should be off, however, when the process is finished

a red LED should go on.

I followed your suggested debug process.

While programming this is done,

The error message is,

Now the LED is blinking RED

Try to program it again.
If this fails, then you'll need another cc debugger or a smartRF05 Evaluation board to try and resurrect it.

The solution is to try twice firmware upgrade CC debugger

Just to clarify a one tiny fact, in your case the solution was to upgrade the firmware twice, though I'm not sure why the first
time wasn't enough.

Please verify this post as answered.

May be it is because that I messed up both the bootloader and firmware with the smartrf ones instead of CC debugger ones before.
