Hi,

I'm using SmartRF06 EB with cc2538 and also cc1200 connected to the board. I have loaded the spi_master program into cc2538 using IAR workbench. Flashing got over successfully. Now how can I see the output the program? the program is having UARTprintf commands. where i should check for the printed values and is there any connections to be made on the SmartRf board other than GPIO connections with cc1299 to enable UART channels?

with the right configurations (HW and FW) all the printf will be outputted to virtual serial port on your PC (through FTDI and eventually USB to serial), therefore you should use something like putty or teraterm for serial communication. Typically the baud rate = 115200

Thank you. I have used Putty and i'm getting my UARTprintf commands working. But I'm getting an error like " Error: Data does not exactly match.Check that Tx & Rx are shorted together." How I will short this TX and RX in hardware?

Thank you. I understood my mistake. I have connected cc1200 though spi and tried the basic cc2538 spi program, which is to be run by shorting Tx and Rx pins.

Hi,
I have connected cc1200 with cc2538 with SPI lines. The code I have made for packet transfer is running. But how I can check whether the SPI is working or not?

You can use SPI analyzer or oscilloscope to check the SPI signals.

Is it the same for checking whether my data is reaching the SPI module registers? And also how can I read a user input value to some variable, is there any command for that? i am using Putty for printing the values.

1. I usually use oscilloscope to make sure SPI clock is there when I use SPI driver to send SPI command. I don't check register unless I don't see clock on oscilloscope. If you have to look at register, you can set a breakpoint in SPI driver and do debug with IAR.
2. If you want to read user input value from Putty, you have to enable UART in your application.

If I'm setting a breakpoint on my SPI program, where I can see the registers? And will it show CC1200 (slave) registers also? IAR only I'm using

When program pauses on breakpoint, you can use go to IAR->View->Register and IAR would pops Register window for you to check register values.

Which is the command i can use to modify the CC1200 (slave) register? If I'm using SSIDataPut the data id directed to TX FIFO. I couldn't find no other commands to access registers.
