CMD_TX vs CMD_TX_TEST

Hi,

I am using cc2541 in proprietary mode. If I change the frequency each 100ms and then send data using CMD_TX I don't see all the channels the radio is hopping on spectrum analyzer. If I use CMD_TX_TEST instead I see all the channels radio is hopping. Why is that? Does this mean CMD_TX does not work for some reason?

The difference between CMD_TX and CMD_TX_TEST is that CMD_TX sends a packet, while CMD_TX_TEST sends continuously until stopped. How long packets are you sending when using CMD_TX? Are you sure that they are long enough for the spectrum analyzer to catch them?
