RI-RFM-007B is to be used with switching power supply whose frequency is greater than 200 hz ?

I'm using a switching power supply whose frequency is 330 Khz .But I'm trying to make it cost effective I'm looking for cheaper alternative.

right now i'm using

which is costing me 391$ but I'm finding it difficult to find a power supply greater than 200 khz .most of the companies out there don't list out the switching frequency as a criteria for searching

Has someone used a switching power supply cheaper than that is what I'm asking and if so where can i find one ?

Because i Know there are cheaper ones available .

if the specification says switching power supply should be greater than 200Khz so someone must have tested it (With a cheaper Alternative i guess)

Hello David,

I assume you are talking about the Power Supply section in the data sheet? Do you mean Hz or kHz? The spec is that if used, the switching power supply should have a frequency > 200kHz.

i think the recommendation is best thought about with regards to power supplies switching around 100kHz. Thus the recommendation to have a supply which is switching frequency above 200kHz to avoid some broadband noise interfering with the tag response.

in this band, the higher the switching frequency (if a switcher must be used), the better.

you also need to make sure the ripple is meeting the system requirements, too.

cheaper than what? we don't sell power supplies - so for point of reference, which one are you using?

well I'm using the RI-RFM-007B with TDK-Lambda-SWS600L-24 (Costs 393$) .So i need a cheaper alternative to that.i mean some switch mode power supply that would work with RI-RFM-007B and wont cost that much

if you have a look on a disty website for a AC/DC power supply which can deliver 7 to 24VDC and handle the peak pulse current, you will have a selection of devices to look at for evaluation, based on table 2-1 requirements found here on page 16

in my experience, running @ 24V will put you very close to the FCC limit for this frequency band. You may want to go for 20 or 22VDC, if you see same thing (most likely you will) when you go to the EMC compliance testing phase of your project
