SmartRF Flash Programmer 2 unable to detect any connected devices

I've just installed SmartRF flash programmer version 1.72 and the drivers for several jtag units (I-Jet and J-Link) on a rather generic windows 7 desktop.  I am able to see these programmers enumerated in Window's control panel, but they never show up in SmartRF's Connected Device list even after I hit the refresh button and /or check the Auto-Detect button.  I can hear the windows bonk when I plug/unplug the programmers from the computer and I see them added to the device list.  I've rebooted, bu still no joy.  Do I need to install XDS100V3?  Any suggestions would be valued.
