I have questions about NFC antenna design,

Hi Lukasz,

Attached is a tool you can use for your antenna design. It calculates the inductance of an antenna depending on user defined width, height, number of turns, and trace size of the antenna. A good inductance goal for NFC antennas is around 2 - 2.5µH. Also, the thicker the trace, the better performance of the antenna.0871.Calculate_L.zip

Lukasz,

To add to what Caitlin said, 2-2.5uH is a good value for tag antenna(RF430CLxxxx, RF430FRL15x). Transceiver antenna, such as TRF79xxA should be around 1 - 1.5uH. The correct inductance helps with finding reasonable tuning values and Q adjustment.
