DLP-7970ABP / F5529 Lauchpad / ULP Wakeup example code

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLP-7970ABP, TRF7970A

Hello,

I have just purchased MSP430 F5529 and MSP430 Value Line Launchpads and DLP-7970ABP booster pack. I am looking for an ultra low power NFC reader.

There is a document for DLP-7970ABP that its hardware has been updated to support ULP Wakeup. http://www.ti.com/lit/pdf/sloa226

However, I was not able to compile the example code for either of the launchpads. The example code is for devkit and MSP430 F2370 www.ti.com/.../sloa184

For the F5529 lauchpad the example code does not compile because of the compile errors of different architecture.

For the G2553 launchpad the example code does not compile because it does not fit to the memory.

Do you know if ULP Wakeup example code has been ported to support either of the launchpads and DLP-7979ABP booster pack?

  • Hello Jarkko,

Unfortunately, we have not ported the ULP Wake up example onto our LaunchPad ecosystem yet.

We did include the support for this feature into our latest BoosterPack update with plans to support it in the future, and adding the ULP wake up example to the LaunchPad ecosystem is an item on our to-do list but we haven't placed a timeline on that project yet.

What tag technologies are you looking to support with this application?

  • Hello Ralph,

Thank you for the information. We are currently evaluating NFC chips for our access control customer case.
We are looking for very low power solution, reader is powered by 3xAA batteries.
    We are evaluating TRF7970A, PN532 and AS3911B.
Currently we are planning to use Mifare Ultralight EV1 cards and possibly Mifare DESFire EV2
