Dear All,

1) I wanted to know if there is any sample programs for the CC2650 Wireless MCU LaunchPad™ Kit using zigbee, as I found only programs for the BLE?

2) Is there any other hardware device or antenna that I should add to the CC2650 Wireless MCU LaunchPad™ Kit in order to try coding my program to transmit and receive over zigbee?

3) I am buying 2 LaunchPad kits in order to develop my firmware on the CC2650. After I fully understand the software part I will move to the next step in which I will design my PCB that will contain CC2650 chip and add the firmware I wrote in the previous step. So is there any other boards or components that I should get or try to be able to make my prototype ( CC2650 on my own PCB using zigbee) ?

4) Regarding the LaunhPad , will I write code on code composer only ? is there any other compilers that I should know about?

Hello,
Regarding #4, CCS or IAR tend to be the most widely used environments. Which to use depend on your personal preference.

As for the other three questions, I will move this question to the appropriate device forum. The experts there can help you best.

1. You can find CC2650 Launchpad SW examples at dev.ti.com/.../
2. There's no need to add extra HW or antenna.
3. To run Zigbee network, you might need an CC2530DK to act as Zigbee coordinator. Otherwise, you would need to use ZAP-ZNP architecture to make CC2650 act as Zigbee coordinator.
4. For TI Z-Stack ( for Zigbee development), you can only use IAR as IDE.

1) I'm on a tight budget, so buying CC2530DK is a hard choice. Could you provide me with any source of information to use the ZAP-ZNP architecture?

2) You are saying that the only choice to use an IDE is IAR, do you mean that there is no any compiler at least to develop my code?

3)It seems like I am missing something big about Zigbee. I would be so grateful if you could provide me with any document to fully understand Zigbee development.

1. You can refer to processors.wiki.ti.com/.../CC2530ZDK-ZNP-MINI for ZAP-ZNP architecture.
2. If you use CC2650 in SOC mode, IAR IDE is only choice to build Zigbee application. If you use ZAP-ZNP, the application runs on ZAP MCU and you don't have to use IAR or CCS. You can chose your perfered IDE since you can use your own MCU as ZAP.
3. You can download and install Z-Stack Home 1.2.2a from www.ti.com/.../z-stack-archive . You will find documents for Zigbee developer.

Thanks a lot YK for those links I am currently reading them but I just noticed that almost all the links that talk about zigbee is mentioning the CC2530 instead of CC2630 or CC2650. Are they all the same regarding the Zigbee part ? Also is CC2530ZNP-Mini Kit a product ?

It's the same to use CC2530 or CC2630 to act as ZNP.
