CC2510: IC emits a signal on a carrier wave without modulation. Please help and support my!

Part Number: CC2510

We encountered a problem with this type of product. Chip emits a continuous wave signal at the carrier and does not react to external factors. Which leads to a complete stop testing products. In such cases, communication between other modules is not possible.
This problem does not bear a mass character. Caught about one in 50,000 - 100 million. The problem with software is excluded. It manifested in different types of products with different software. The total is only ss2510.
After switching on the chip, it works to the full battery discharge.

  • Ivan,

I am correct in assuming that you have used the CC2510 for a long time and in most of your products it works just fine. If so I think what is happening if a software error condition that is not handled correct and it causes the chip to enter a locked state. The most common one I can think of is a FIFO buffer under or overflow condition. If the trasmitter is in TX and it runs out of data to send it does not shut down the TX its just enters a underflow condition.

I suggest that you setup a test where check the status registers of one "locked up devices".

  • Hi, thanks for the reply.

After reprogramming of the device, the problem is not solved.
Source code as we do not have the customer provides it as an update.
The problem is not misrepresented that one chip operates incorrectly, and in that it blocks all products of the type which runs a testing stage. Repent, I want to know if this problem is known, is already happening or not.
The device that I have, is that you can not touch it, unless reprogrammed to FCT.
    Thank you.
