TRF7970AEVM: Setting transmitting modes

Part Number: TRF7970AEVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TRF7970A

I want to apply some tests on TRF7970AEVM. Its GUI interface explains how to select and send some commands of the different modulation schemes, but it does not say how to set the right transmitting modes for testing.

I need to set a channel at the main center frequency of the 13,56Mhz band in following scenarios:

Scenario 1 : unmodulated signal at maximum transmitted (tx) power.

Scenario 2 to n: Modulated signal for the different modulations supported (15693, 14443A, FELICA, …,n) at maximum tx power.

Please let me know how to do this with this interface as it is not explained in the document TRF7970A Evaluation Module User's Guide.

  • Hi Mutlu,

ISO15693 and ISO14443A use OOK modulation so there isn't any difference between having maximum TX power vs just having the RF field setup for either of those standards as long as you aren't issuing commands.

If you configure the device for ISO15693 using Set Protocol, the RF field should turn on at 100% power and will remain like that until a command is issued. Then if you wanted to see the modulation signals for commands, you can issue polling commands. You can use the polling commands for each of the other technologies to see the modulated signals as well.
