Linux/CC8530: CC8530 transmit data

Part Number: CC8530

Tool/software: Linux

CC8530 in the Linux ,with the cc8530 point to point transmit audio data have packet loss, open environment testing can only be transmitted around 3M, whether there is a test report about bidirectional data?

  • Hi,

What HW are you using? The reference designs get 10s of meters in indoors environments and more outdoors.

    Cheers,
    Fredrik
  • Full reference to the CC8530 DEMO design, including schematics and PCBs, designed as modules for use in our system. One-way audio transmission test, whether indoors or outdoors, to achieve the same distance with the demo. Two-way audio transmission test, indoor transmission is only 3 meters, demo no two-way firmware can not be compared.
  • In our device, the cc8530 is attached to the board as a module. Ti module and audio equipment in the outdoor transmission up to 42m. Put the TI module into our device, with the audio device interior only 19m. The above tests are unidirectional. The initial conclusion is that the device internal components have a great impact on the cc8530, with no improvement in the shield. Is there any way to improve the bidirectional data, up to 10 meters?
  • Are you saying that you get 42 m outdoors range and 19 m indoors range with TI kits? But with your own module you only get a few meters? In that case it is clearly a HW issue with your design. Have you done any measurements to verify your RF performance? Have you verified that the antenna matching is correct?
  • With our own module to do the test, outdoor up to 42 meters, indoor up to 19m. Consistent with the results of TI kits, this is a uniderection transmission. But the distance between the bidirectional transmission only 3m indoor。How to improve?

  • Hi,

Since this seems like the same issue, I merged your new thread with your existing thread. Did you check antenna matching and RF measurements as Fredrik suggested?
