Using as a reader / writer only, what is the maximum read range of the TRF7970A or TRF7964A. Can I get 2 feet? What tag, antenna, and power would I need?

    Hello Tom,

    For NFC typical read ranges are measured in cm's not feet. With the TRF79xxA family of devices, you can expect 3-10cm range depending on antenna topology of both reader and tag, the tuning of the reader antenna, and the NFC technology used (ISO14443, ISO15693, etc.). You may be able to push that up a bit further with larger 'gate' antennas (like 300mm by 300mm in dimension) and ISO15693, but that usually isn't viable for end products.
