CC2652R: Does CC2652 can support to run two Stacks on the same device

Part Number: CC2652R
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC1352R

Dear team,

Is there a way to run two stacks on a single chip at the same time? For example, to build a Gateway between BLE and IEEE 802.15.4?

if the CC26x2 can't handle a fast transition between stacks, maybe it it possible to running the Bluetooth LE for a "Technician/Config mode" and the  IEEE 802.15.4 as main network?

Thanks in advance.

Best,

Shai.

  • Hello Shai,

The SimpleLink Multi-Standard CC2652R wireless MCU is capable of running both BLE and 802.15.4 protocols. As of now, we have not announced Dynamic Multi-protocol Manager (DMM) support of concurrent BLE & 802.15.4 protocol stack operation in the SIMPLELINK-CC26X2-SDK. We recommend that you utilize the "Alert Me" option on the SDK page so that you get the latest product announcements.

Please note that DMM support is available for BLE and EasyLink (Sub-1GHz) on the SimpleLink Multi-Band CC1352R Wireless MCU.

    Best wishes
  • JXS,

Thank you for your inputs, do you know if the Dynamic Multi-protocol Manager will be available this 1H18 for CC2652.
This information is important to my customer if he should start to do design with our CC2652.
    Thanks in advance,

    Best regards,
    Shai
  • Shai,

Unfortunately, we have not communicated a DMM schedule as of now. What is the production date for your customer?

    Best wishes
  • JXS, the expected production date is around 2Q19.
but they are selecting their main components right now .
Do you think we can handle this DMM feature on these frame time ?

    BR,
    Shai.
