Tool/software: TI C/C++ Compiler
when I tried to write to RF430FRL152H EVM using MSP FET, I am getting "Error connecting to the target: Unknown device". How can I fix this?
Yes, "RF430FRL152H_NFC_Only_Project_NDEF_Support" project. Initially, it worked and I got NDEF message with the reader. When I tried to increase data in NDEF around 1896bytes (0x0768) I increased array contents and flashed. Now I can able to read with NFC reader, but the RF430xx EVM is not detecting through MSP-FET.
My colleague, Jayakrishnan also, contacting in another post regarding the same project,
How would I check whether the device is secured/locked or not? since the target is not detecting I tried to write .out file from uniflash, that one also interrupted.
No, now also EVM is responding with NXP NFC reader app, I can read some content in an app, but programming is not happening with MSP-FET.
Hello Vijaya,
Okay that worked! CCS v8.0 built and downloaded the project just fine.
I did some tests read out the message with no issues, and then went to re-program and had no problem as well. I tried messing with a few settings to recreate your issue, and the only one which did was having Switch S6 set to the wrong position. Try toggling it back and forth and see if that helps.
If not, then get a DMM and try to confirm the switch connection is proper by checking for connectivity of the TP8 test point with the left pin of SV7 (Remove jumper), left with regard to orientation of board being with antenna at the very top. The pin on SV7 is closest to the FET debug port.
I am attaching an image for clarity too with TP8 circled in Yellow and the correct SV7 pin boxed in Green.
1. We don't have second EVM.
2. attached picture of my setup.
3. As in below image, I tried different erase options, but not worked. And in the green boxed message is saying device connection will not possible after device secured. When CCS flash failing, I tried Uniflash to write .out file but interrupted, will this cause any issue. If so how can I do check is security enabled? and how can I clear it. Now also EVM is responding to NFC reader app and getting without problems.
1. Yes, the jumper wire is removed for connectivity testing only, it was there always, every debugging and during when I got the error too.
2. I will try to trace 1.5V rails, but the device is good in battery mode and when reading from NFC reader app from android mobile 'n' number of times. the device is responsive, readable but not writable! means 1.5v rails are working fine?
3. Regarding security box, If my firmware code flashed properly then no problems, but flashing was interrupted a couple of times with error and when used uniflash to write .out file also ended with the failed message. If my project is working and flashing with you (sent project file) normally, then in my case when interruptions occurred, does it locked/(something?) with my device?
Hi Vijaya,
I would need to ask another engineer who is out of office for today only about point 3... I am not sure if that could cause the device to be in an unrecoverable state. Stay tuned on that.
Hello Ralph Jacobi,
Can you forward the same request to the concerned team (TI-Bangalore) for the faster replacement, If the extra board is available with them I will directly meet TI-Bangalore office, near to me, for the new board?
