RF37S114: Read range of RF37S114

What is the read/write range of the RF37S114 tags? I tried it with the DLP-RFID2 demo board which has the TRF7970 transceiver and the range is only about 0.5cm. I am using external antenna #6 and running full RF power. What is the product life of the TI ISO15693 tags and the TRF7970 IC? I am working on a new design and our product has very long life cycle>15 years.

    By product life, can you clarify what you mean better? Do you mean how many years they will be produced, or when an IC is put on a board, how long it will last?

    Hi Ralph,

    By product life I meant how long they will be produced as we don't want to have to redesign every few years if the product became obsolete. Is TI planning to support the ISO15693 transceiver and tag products for the long term? Our design doesn't require long read range (<2-3cm), the RF ISO15693 RFID seems to fit our needs. I expect the IC itself to have an indefinite life after installation of the board.

    Hello John,

    Thanks for clarifying. Our NFC transceivers and transponders are a stable business for us, and we view them as long-term products so we have no plans at all to stop their production.
