How to speed up Tx / Rx files on CC2530

hi All,

I have project with CC2530 RF chip. I have write application which Tx / Rx files between two EV boards CC2530. I have used two PCs with Hyper termial application(UART) and Kermit protocol.

The problem is that I could not speed up the bps more than 8K(I have used SimpleTI stack protoocl). The chip is suppose to work on 250K bps.

Could someone know how could I speed up the bps?

Is someone have succedded to work on 250K bps as the chip is should be worked?

Please be aware of other factors that limits the throughput:

1) IEEE 802.15.4 PHY layer (pre-amble + sync)

2) SimpliciTI packet overhead

3) Kermit overhead (I assume this protocol introduces quite a lot of overhead)

4) The UART itself, what is your selected baudrate?

To limit the impact of protocol overhead, you are better off using long packets.

Thanks for your reply.

I am using 57600, Data bit 8, no parity, stop bit 1 and flow control None.

Could you please more explain 1 and 2?

1) and 2) add quite a few bytes, at least 13. SimpliciTI for the CC2530 uses the IEEE 802.15.4 protocol, you can find details here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IEEE_802.15.4-2006. If you use a TI packet sniffer you can easily see how each packet is composed.
