CC-DEBUGGER: Problem with SmartRF Flash Programmer. Wouldn't verify HEX on some of our CC-Debuggers.

Hello,

We've got 5 pcs of CC-Debuggers. Most of them are working fine - I've tested leads separately to exclude them - only some of CC-Debuggers seem to not verify HEX file at all.

Chip I am trying to program : CC1110

Is there any cure for this one?

Hi Sebastian,

If you read the hex image back from the IC, is it really identical to what you programmed initially?

Yes it is, with other CC-Debugger and same wire I am able to read it and verify it against file, it's identical.

Did you read back the content and perform a manual comparison? Not just read/verify in Flash Programmer?

Hello,

I've managed to read the hex file and then manually compare them.

It seems that affected CC-Debuggers do not write new file properly. (At all actually).

Although SmartRF Programmer says writing is okay, and then prompts error on Hex File Verification step.

Any further suggestions?

Tried to update F/W via SmartRF Studio, managed to do it properly. This didn't solve the issue.

Checked with another Leads and USB Cable (which is used with device that is working fine) - still the same problem exist.

It must be CC-Debugger issue.

Hi Sebastian,

It does sound like the debuggers are broken for some reason. I would recommend that you ask for a replacement from where you ordered them. You can refer to this thread if needed.
