CC8520: Firmware

Hi all,

I'm trying to make PCB with CC8520 SoC. And I think, I'm sure this chip comes with no firmware. But I couldn't find the firmware for CC8520 (it must be a .hex file).

Can anybody help me please? I'm really digging but nothing came out

Hi Damla,

You can use the PurePath Wireless Configuration to flash existing images, or creating one that fit your custom board.

Thank you for your answer. I've seen this on internet but couldn't figure out how to generate a new .hex file. Configurator only allows .ppwcfg file am I right?

The toold takes .ppwcfg files which defines the device and how it is to be used/setup. You can then both generate images and flash the device my selecting the "Flash Programming" view inside the tool. Basically, the .ppwcfg file can be considered the source code used to generate the hex file.

You don't program this device as a typical processor, also is there no single hex file that it should run. You need to use the confiscator to create a configuration for your platform (settings, IOs, audio sources/sinks etc).) that you then use to generate the hex file.
