TMS37157: RI-ACC-ADR2-10 can not run the charge command with the gui

Part Number: TMS37157
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: RI-STU-MRD2

Hi,

I plan to charge the TMS37157 (to charge an external battery) with RI-ACC-ADR2-10, the PC software is PaLFI Demo GUI, the RX showed like the screenshot below, but no voltage came out from pin 2. "read page" and "Battery check" can work though.

Please help me fix the problem or tell me the correct Charge command in Serial Communication.

Best regards!

Hsu

  • Hello Hsu,

    it seems that there is a bug in the ADR2 firmware. I will check if I can find a workaround for that and come back to you the next days.
    Do you have also a RI-STU-MRD2 reader available?

    Best regards,
    Helfried
  • Hi Helfried,
    Thanks for your reply, actually I can only use the RI-ACC-ADR2-10 board.
    If there is a bug with the firmware, why the" flash LED without battery" works? Could you please tell me the workable command(s) of the"flash LED without battery" button?

    Thanks
    Best regards!

  • Hello Hsu,

    you are right, the problem is the GUI, not the firmware.

    To send the battery charge command use the following command:

    01078210190868000AE6

    A complete example sequence for flashing the LED without battery looks like:

    // read page 3
    Tx: 01060632080C000A3C
    Rx: 010B007EFF010E0000000C5A5685
    // battery charge
    Tx: 01078210190868000AE6
    --- delay
    // MSP access
    Tx: 010E0632487D040000000000AF58050AF3
    Rx: 010B007E0400000000007D14B0A8
    // battery charge
    Tx: 01078210190868000AE6
    --- delay
    // read page 3
    Tx: 01060632080C000A3C
    Rx: 010B007EFF010E0000000C5A5685

    Hope that helps.

    Best regards,
    Helfried
