Hi My name is Hyung.

I am using RF430FRL152H and MPS430G2553 + TRF7970ABP to create a customboard.

The RF430FRL152h custom board which operates with NFC is to receive the LED light by the light sensor and send the data to the master kit MPS430G2553 + TRF7970ABP and send it to the PC to display it. We are going to display the data in Matlab.

In order to do this, we get to know that you need to enter TRF7970A command.

Read ADC data (read block 9) (Adr. 0xF8B0 - 0xF8B4)

So I typed the commnad into Termite.exe, but nothing happened. I tried it on another PC, but the problem was not resolved. What is the reason?..TT

Also, I tried it in TRF7970 EVM Control, but it is not working too.

Is the problem with MPS430G2553 + TRF7970ABP?

Disconnect and reconnect the board before starting the Termite Session to be sure the communication is in sync.

Thanks to your reply. I reprogrammed the MSP-EXP430G2ET and it is working well.

I have additional question. I want to get only light sensor data(ADC0). Can you inform me what is this command?

Hello Minhyung,

the ADC value can be read out by a read block command

Read ADC data (read block 9) (Adr. 0xF8B0 - 0xF8B4)

Command: 010B000304180220090000 Response: Request mode [00D027DC266C25FFFF]
The ADC value of the light sensor is byte 6 and 7 in the response (counted from the left, in the example 6C25)

You have trigger first a new measurement with the following command:

Command: 01130003041802210001000701010100400000 Response: Request mode [00]

and then read the ADC value.

i type the command 010B000304180220090000 and the response is Request mode[00FF3FFF3F680AFF3F].

you said "The ADC value of the light sensor is byte 6 and 7 in the response (counted from the left,in the example 6C25)". Then, in my case, at Request mode[00FF3FFF3F680AFF3F] the ADC value of the light sensor is 680A. right?

Are there any commands that can only accept ADC0 values?

Hello Minhyung,

no, there is no command for reading only the ADC0 value.

The data is read with a ISO15693 Read Block 9 command which reads 8 bytes as a block.
You have to extract the ADC value with you software from that block. Remember to swap the bytes. The ADC value in my case 0x256C.
you can see that in the Demo GUI in the View Sensor Data Tab.

I understand but I want to confirm one more time. In my case , at Request mode[00FF3FFF3F680AFF3F] the ADC value is 0x0A68, right?

ADC value can be applied directly to the expression mentioned in the user gide(ADCData * 0.9V / (2 ^ 14-1) * PGAMult) without change the hexadecimal value to the decimal value ?

You can not put a hexadecimal value into a formula without converting it to decimal.
