TRF7961: chip recommendation needed for ISO 14443-a

Hello everyone,

I am currently using TRF7961 which supports ISO15693. Is there any chip which supports ISO14443-a and is also pin compatible with TRF7961.

Hello Devendra,

I would recommend the TRF7960A or the TRF7964A. The TRF7964A has a larger FIFO (127 bytes) then the TRF7960A (12 bytes).
In case you want the full NFC functionality with Card Emulation the TRF7970A is the right choice.

All these devices are pin compatible.

Hello Helfried,

Do these IC's have the same pinout and footprint as TRF7961. The reason i'm asking this is that i have a product with TRF7961 and i want to simply replace that IC with one that supports ISO14443-a without changing anything in my PCB. Also is there any evaluation module or development board available to test the ICs you have suggested.

Hello Devendra,

all of these devices have the same pinout. You can simple replace it on your PCB.

We have only an EVM board for the TRF7970A to give the customer the possibility to evaluate the full device functionality.

Together with the EXP430F5529 Launchpad and the NFC Link Demo software you can test the full functionality.
