CC8531: Question on CC8531

Part Number: CC8531
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2590

Hi TI Team,

We have been designing wireless speaker products using CC8531+CC2590. Would you please kindly give us feedback on below questions regarding CC8531?

1. How do we measure receiver sensitive of CC8531+CC2590?  What kind of setup and tools we need in order to measure the receiver sensitive?

2. Is there any way to modify CC8531 TX power by means of host control mode? We would like to alter device transmitter power based on certain RF conditions.

Best regards,

Peter

  • Hi Peter,

We will look into this and get back to you by the end of the week.

    Thanks,

    Alexis

  • Hi Peter,

    1. You can use the PER test included in PurePath Wireless Commander. You must connect two test boards with a coaxial cable and a (variable) attenuator. You must also place the receiver board inside a shielded chamber to avoid RF power radiating passed the cable when you have high attenuation.

    2. There are no EHIF commands available beyond what is documented in the CC85xx User´s Guide.

    Regards,
    Fredrik
