WL1835MODCOM8B: Wi-Fi forum

Part Number: WL1835MODCOM8B
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: WL18XXCOM82SDMMC, , TUSB1210

I am trying to configure my Zedboaboard to work with WL1835MODCOM8B using the WL18XXCOM82SDMMC SD board connector. Zedboard is running Petalinux ver. 2019.1.

I have already tried using the recommended getting started guides but most of the scripts and downloads are not updated or unavailable...

Recommendations?

thanks in advance

  • Can, you please point to the guide, you are referring above. And also, can you provide  boot console logs.

    Thanks

  • I've tried the instructions provided here

    https://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/WL18xx_Platform_Integration_Guide

With no success, and tried also https://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/WL18xx_System_Build_Scripts

But  git://git.ti.com/wilink8-wlan/build-utilites.git for example doesn't seem to work plus the whole script refers to TI SDK, is there an alternative since the SDK isn't available anymore as far as I know..

The boot log shows (after platform integration guide):

    and ifconfig's output is still:

    Thanks for the quick response

  • Can, you provide the kernel console log? If the MMC/SDIO (connected to the WiFi module) is configured properly in the device tree, on kernel boot logs, you should see a message like below that the MMC slot is detected..

mmcX new high speed SDIO card at address 0001

If, you do not see it please check the MMC IO configuration and device tree.

    Thanks

  • Thanks for the response,

Here is the kernel boot log, I've highlighted the line you were referring to however, it is not quite like you've mentioned..

  • Have you enabled the WL18xx driver config flags with your kernel builds? (CONFIG_WL18XX, CONFIG_WLCORE, CONFIG_WLCORE_SDIO)

I do not see any messages with wl18xx, wlcore drivers in your logs..

    Thanks
