Hello Helfried !

I am using the MDR2EVM for my project, to communicate with a board I built. It would be really helpful for me to know what transponder is on theMDR2EVM board. Is it interfaced with the microcontroller via SPI? I would like to compare the timing of my board with the timing on the dev board, could you suggest the test points where I can measure the timing?

Hello Liviu,

not clear for me what information you need. The MRD2 is a reader not a transponder.

The MRD2 does not a use special reader ASIC. It works with a software decoder programmed in a MSP430 processor.

Thank you Helfried, in that case, my bad... I was under the impression that there is a transponder chip on the board, interfaced with the MSP430.

Is it possible to communicate over the e-mail? I have some questions, and my company might not allow me to disclose details on a forum page..
