CC8530: There is a problem linking the volume control.

Part Number: CC8530

Hi.

I am developing a wireless usb audio product using CC853x(Tx+Rx) and I have a problem with VOLUME when connected to PlayStation4.

When I connect Tx to windows 10 and adjust the volume in windows, the volume adjusted value is well received by the RX chip.

By the way, if I control the volume by operating PlayStation4 after connecting Tx to PlayStation4, only the lowest volume value is received on the RX chip.

So volume control is not available on PlayStation4. Is there a way to receive and apply the RX chip when the volume is adjusted in PlayStation4?

My settings are as follows.

TX: Standard headset

RX: Host control

Best Regards.

An.

  • Hi Ans,

I assume TX in this scenario is a USB Headset device? With standard, do you mean you have made no changed to the configuration panel compared to the example provided with the Development Kit?

Volume Control over USB host comes from the HID report including "Play Control" which is selected in the "Human Interface Devices" menu in the configurator. If it work for windows but not PlayStation4 I would recommend you look into which support you have on the PS4 side. There is nothing proprietary about how this work, it is simply a standard USB HID device.
