Regarding the use of cc2530.....

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2530, CC2591, Z-STACK

Hi,

I am new to zigbee technology and first time i am going to use it in my project. My application area is telemedicine..

Can I use cc2530 as my zigbee/rf module for this application with regard to that i am a newbee to this technology..???

Pls help ....

  • Hi Sagar,

Sure you can use the CC2530, but it might be better to start of with a module such as the RC2400-ZNM from Radiocrafts.

Here you get the RF-design finished, characterized, approved and production tested (every module)

In addition you can switch to a solution with power amplifier (CC2591) and 100mw output power in the same footprint later if you need more range.

With the ZNM(~ZNP) firmware you are also off to an easy start on the software side. Starting with the Z-Stack and IAR will require much more work before you can release your product to the market. The ZNM is a precompiled ZigBee Pro compliant stack inside the module, accessible through a easy to use API over UART/SPI.
