TRF7970A: max power on transponder side

Hello,
customer plans a similar sensor application like the TIDA-00721 but with the TRF7970A the tranponder side. He needs to power a sensor transponder out of the NFC field with ~17mW. Can you get such power from the reader NFC field? Some app note or infos would help to judge the possiblities.
Coil distance is around 3mm, diameter size is around 10mm. On the reader side he also plans with the TRF7970A.

Hello Holger,

just to avoid a misunderstanding, you wrote TRF7970A at the transponder side. Do you mean RF430FRL152H instead of the RF430CL330H?

I need 105°C. So therefore I choose the TRF7970A on booth sides.

Hello Holger,

if I get you right now you will use the TRF7970A as sensor transponder and you need a harvested power of ~17mW for the sensor,

The TRF7970A is primary a reader but has also included functionality for card emulation to allow peer-to-peer communication modes. This requires the TRF7970A to be powered by a power supply and it can not be powered only by a field. In addition the TR7970A requires an external MCU to operate. Energy harvesting is not possible with the TRF7970A.

Both devices that we can offer are not usable for 105°C.

Hello Helfried,
my idea was get the energy for the TRF7970A from the field. Like in the TIDA-00721 use diodes to rectify the voltage and supply the VCC with it:http://www.ti.com/tool/TIDA-00721

The webpage and the datasheet mentioned that the TRF7970A is spezified for -40 to 110°C.

the rectifier diodes would be outside of the TRF7970A like in the TIDA and have nothing to do with the TRF7970A.
