CC2652R: External Temperature sensor NTC type (Vishay NTCALUG01T103F)

Hi,

How i can interface NTC type Thermistor ((Vishay NTCALUG01T103F) in CC2652R to measure the battery temperature for automotive application.

Also please suggest which type of temp sensor can be advise to use for battery management system.

Hi A,

Sure you can, you could interface it with the ADC with a simple resistor divider (for example). Which sensor fits your application the best, I can't really tell you as it depend on so many factors.

Hi A,

I'm no BMS expert and I can only assume that what is best is very case specific. For example I would assume that the solution is tightly coupled with what requirements there is for the BMS and for example the thermal precision. I would recommend that you first consider your requirements and then ask yourself "is this solution sufficient?".

Could you please suggest app note with NTC Thermistor for CC2652R micro controller or ADS1120IPWR ADC. So that will be helpful for me to conclude.

Hi A,

Sorry for the late responds. I do not have any good app note to share but a typical approach is simply having it in series with a know resistor to create a voltage divider and measure the voltage between the two. Then there is multiple enhancements to this like adding buffer steps etc. In the end, it all comes down to sample the voltage which is the result of the NTC and convert that to a temperature based on your thermistors characteristics.
