Product information for the NFC with inbuilt microcontroller

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TRF7970A

Hello Community,

I am very new to NFC technology.

I would like to know what TI offers for the NFC microcontrollers with the following requirements.

1. Both reader & writer mode
2. All possible interfaces like (class a, b, c)
3. NFC Forum compliance
4. Support both active and passive modes.
5. multiple card mode supports.
6. with RFID support.
7. customizable firmware.

Will you please help to know their part numbers?

Regards,

Shiv Patil.

  • Hello Shiv,

We do not have any NFC reader devices that come with an integrated MCU. Our NFC transceiver requires a host MCU and it works as an AFE.

The TRF7970A is our most robustly featured transceiver and you can review details on the product page or in this FAQ guide that compares it to other NFC devices: https://www.ti.com/lit/pdf/sloa246

Depending what customizable firmware you need, this could be a good solution as the MCU has full control of the transceiver so you can customize it however you want.

Regarding NFC Forum compliance, please review the device errata that has a few items which impact NFC Forum compliance. Note that while it doesn't say NFC Forum Compliance on Device#B01, last I was aware that is also impacted by that errata.

  • @,

    Thank's for the Information.

    Regards,

    Shiv Patil.
