RF430FRL152HEVM: Unable to connect to device

Hello together,

recently I played around a bit with the SYSCNF register of the RF430FRL152H and after I did

SYSCNF = 0xFFFF

Code Composer Studio cannot connect to the Board anymore. It says: "Error connecting to the target. Unknown device". I am a bit lost because I tried some stuff but I cannot make it work anymore. Is there something important that I missed? How to fix this?

I am using RF430FRL152HEVM with the MSP-FET Flash Emulation Tool. IDE ist CCS with Windows 10.

Hello Hauke,

the SYSCNF register will be back to the reset values when you do a power cycle. If this will not solve your problem the problem must be different.

Do you still have access via RF to the device?

thank you for your reply. A power cycle didn't help ( in terms of unplugging everything). I don't have access via NFC but in the last software I haven't enabled the RF-module yet.

Hello Hauke,

there must be another problem with your device. I tried to write 0xFFFF to the SYSCONF register and, as you have noticed, the JTAG access was lost. After a power cycle the device was again accessible via JTAG.

In your case I cannot see a way bring the device back to live.
