Hi all, I would like to ask regarding this obsolete transponder.
I would like to seek an replacement device to replace this transponder which has the Read/Write function.
Thank you in advance.

Hello Woon,
for the RI-TRP-WEHP-30 23mm R/W transponder no direct replacement is available.
The only programmable types that we can offer are the 32mm RI-TRP-DR2B Multipage Transponder and the 12mm TRPGP40ATGC CCT Type. But these types are different in size and need different protocols to program the transponders. The "Charge Only Read" to read the 80 bit ID is supported by both types.

Hi Helfried,
Thanks for the prompt reply.
I see, I am trying to find a direct replacement. I got another question regarding another transponder.
I have another more recent obsolete R/W transponder which is RI-TRP-WR3P-30 but for some reason I am unable to program it as it give back R/O transponder for its status byte. I would like to confirm if it is R/O or R/W transponder.
Thank you for your undivided attention.
Best Regards,
Woon
Hello Woon,
the RI-TRP-WR3P-30 is a R/W transponder. Please see attached datasheet:
The startbyte for the R/O type should be 0x7E and 0xFE for the R/W type. For the unconfigured R/W I would expect 0xEE.

Helfried
Hi Helfried,
Regarding the startbyte you stated, I am using Legacy Microreader Protocol (LMP) to read. From the result I got for start byte was 0x01 while Length is 0x09. My 3rd Byte will be the response byte which is to check for status byte which gives a value of 0x0C.
Sorry that I missed out on the protocol that I used.
Best Regards,
Woon Kian
Hello Woon,
the startbyte I referred to is the startbyte the transponder is sending to the reader. When looking at the Legacy Microreader Protocol the Status byte should be 0x0C for the R/O type and 0x0D for the R/W type.
