DLP-7970ABP: Default TX power with example code

I'm running some testing using the DLP-7970ABP and the MSP-EXP430F5529LP and the example software for the DLP-7970ABP (SLOC297 Rev C). I'm evaluating the TRF7970A read range, so I'm wondering what its output power is set to in the sample code. In the code, I don't see where the chip status control register is set for 3.3V operation, so I'm not sure whether the 14.5dBm or 17dBm mode as specified by the TRF7970A datasheet is being used.

Hello Natalie,

in the SLOC292C source code, the TRF7970A is set to full power @ 3.3V. You can find the setting in the file main.c line 132.

Thank you for the reply Helfried; however, I am using the SLOC297C code, not 292C, so I don't see the line you're referencing.

Sorry, was just a typo. There is no SLOC292C. SLOC297C is correct and also the line 132 in main.c.

My mistake -- for this instance I am actually using the code from the SLOA227 installer, which is compatible with the MSP-EXP430F5529LP.

No problem. I have checked the code for the EXP40F5529LP and it is in full power mode. This is not directly to be seen in the code. The Chip Status Control register is at 0x01 after reset or SW INIT and the half power mode would require to set the power mode to "1" which is not done in the code. This means it is at full power by default.
