CC1101: Application Inquiry

Part Number: CC1101

Hello Team,

Good day. My customer is using the CC1101 in many of their products. They are asking if we know if it could be set up to transmit to a receiver with a Silicon Labs si4460? Any Application report/technical documents we can share?

From what they can tell the si4460 is setup as follows
433.92MHz
2-GFSK modulation
40K bps
160KHz channel spacing

Regards,

Renan

  • Hi,

If you use same packet format for both of the radios then this should be possible.

Use SmartRF studio to configure the packet format and click on the advanced function so you can set the preamble and sync format as well.

    Regards,

       Richard

  • Hello Richard,

    Good day.

I have been doing as you suggest with no luck. Would you happen to know if the GFSK modulation of the CC1101 is the same as the SiLabs si4460 2-GFSK?

    Regards,

    Renan

  • Hi Renan,

If you have a Si4460 device, then I would view the RF signal on a spectrum analyzer in the time domain and to reproduce the RF signal with the CC1101. This way you can reproduce the preamble, sync and packet format.

Double check as well the frequency offset so there is no frequency offset between the two boards.

    Regards,

       Richard
