CC1120: What's the impact of slightly changing RFBW

Genius 3985 points
Part Number: CC1120

Hi.

we are using CC1120 in 434MHz narrowband applications and set filter BW to 12.5kHz; years ago and were fine with it.

That was until the TCXO crisis hit us.

Former TCXO, regardless if they were specifiied up to 2ppm initial failure, never exceeded ~0.5ppm initial.
Now all new TCXO we validated use their 2ppm window - and I can't blame anybody about it because thats the spec.

But with typical DEV=2.8kHz and symbol rate up to 4k, there is not much space within 12.5kHz (aging etc.).

Looking at it with SmartRF, in fact sensivity decreases as soon as I change carrier freq. more than~2kHz away from center (which is ~4ppm).

My question: what's the price tag if we change from 12.5k to 14.5k or 15.5k - which adds another 2ppm safety to the window.
I can't see a sensivity decrease if I try that (BER with transparent RX) - but I know within CC112x a lot of things are coupled which I don't expect to be coupled :-(

thx. a lot in advance
