CC1310: Device Read Protection/ Prevent people from copying the image

I am looking to read protect the CC1310 chip. Is there a way in the code/settings? I have been looking through it since many ago and could not find it. Few questions described as points:

1) I saw, read/write protect definitions explained in the TRM, but could not find them both in the library or code, i could only see Write protect definition in the ccfg.c file. Is there a read protect there and if so is that sufficient to protect my code/image in the chip?

2) Is disabling JTAG an option? if so should i force erase to access it again?

3) Lastly, if we code protect somehow that you may suggest me, can i still be able to access the MAC/HW ID memory location of the chip through segger or any device?

Hi Subil,

Disabling the JTAG is the option recommended for production use. This provides read protection. And for write protection, you use the CCFG_PROT_n registers, which is detailed in the TRM.

To do this you can follow the section 9 of the TRM and set these in the ccfg.c file like you mentioned.

yea we enabled write protect, but the TRM also says about read protect using the CCFG_PROT definition but could not find them in the driver file (ccfg.c)

Hi Subil,

The CCFG_PROT definition does a write and erase protect of the flash sectors.

For read protection, disabling the JTAG would be the recommended option.
