CC1310: Impact on range of transmission by changing the transmitting power from +10dbm to +14dbm

Hello Everyone,

I am trying to improve the transmission range for my cc1310 (without cc1190) hopefully to 40 meter, previously I had my tx_power set to 10 dBm (.txPower = 0x38D3), my client is not satisfied with the range so I changed the TX Power to +14dBm by setting .txPower = 0xA73F in smartef_settings.c and I also set CCFG_FORCE_VDDR_HH to 0x1 in ccfg.c, however I am not able to see any improvement compared to the previous firmware.

Am I missing something here, is there anything else I need to change to set the TX Power to +14dBm.

Is there an another way to increase the range of cc1310 rf signal?

40 m is on the short side, even with 10 dBm.

Have you used https://www.ti.com/tool/RF-RANGE-ESTIMATOR to estimate the range with the settings you are using?

The settings you are using looks correct. Copy the 14 dBm setting from SmartRF Studio and set CCFG_FORCE_VDDR_HH to 0x1 in ccfg.c, and you should get +14 dBm.
