CC1352P: Question on CC1352P failed to operate properly at a low temperature of -40 degree

Part Number: CC1352P
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS114S08

Dear TI Expert,

We have a problem where CC1352P failed to operate properly at a low temperature of -40 degree C. We notice lowest ambient temperature of CC1352P is -40 degree C in datasheet, in our extreme condition test, when temperature is raised to -25 degree C, the device begin to operate properly.

Any advice or debug methodology you suggest? In my imagination, is there any way can capture log information from device for the failure at the low temperature so that we could anayze on it?

Please shed some light on it.

Thanks

Regards,

Yuanchen Zhu

  • We have a problem where CC1352P failed to operate properly at a low temperature of -40 degree C.

Could you please describe in detail what you see and how you are using the chip? Basically, how can I re-create this on my side?

  • Hello there,

CC1352P in our case is used to for 2.4GHz wireless communication, and using SPI compatible serial interface with ADS114S08 for RTD meansurement application.

Personally, we believe there is a chance that it is not the root problem of 1352P chip itself , therefore, we tend to hear some advice or methodology on how to debug the problem.

  • " We have a problem where CC1352P failed to operate properly at a low temperature of -40 degree C": This is a vague problem description and based on this it's difficult to advice how to debug.

    - Is it the radio that fails?

    - Is it the SPI that fails? And if failure, is it on the controller or peripheral side?

    - Other peripherals?

Basically try to divide the system into different parts and try to narrow down which part that has issues.

  • The phenomenon is that the wireless connection (no signal can be detected) cannot be made at -40 degree C, instead of no valid data, which we believe has not much to do with SPI and peripheral directly.  If it is the radio part that failed, any further suggestion?

    Yuanchen

  • The radio has been characterized at -40 degrees.

How is this test performed? Note that the radio needs a recalibration of the synth of the temperature change with more than about 35 degrees meaning that if the cmd_FS is done at 25 degrees, the device is set to send, and the temperature is gradually decreasing, the synth will go out of lock between -10 and -20 degrees.
