LAUNCHXL-CC1312R1: RSSI value with the distance between Collector and Sensor

Part Number: LAUNCHXL-CC1312R1

Hi TI,

What's the impact of the RSSI value for the distance between collector and Sensor?

I had tested two EVB and get the RSSI= -15.

When the distance between collector and sensor is increased, what's the impact of the RSSI value?  will we get the value  "-20" or "-10" or "+10" ?

Thanks.

  • RSSI is Received Signal strength Indication and is measured in dBm. Meaning that if you increase the distance between the RX and TX the RSSI will go down (lower value). If you start at -20 dBm (as an example) and double the distance between RX and TX you should see ~-26 dBm (if measured out on a field, buildings will give less predictable results)
