LAUNCHXL-CC1352R1: EasyLink and wireless M-Bus question

Part Number: LAUNCHXL-CC1352R1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC1352R

Dear TI Engineers,

I am learning the academics of EasyLink of CC1352R SDK v6.10.  I have found these questions.  Please clarify:

  1. Does EasyLink meet any wireless connectivity standard?  Is it a TI proprietary technology?
  2. Can EasyLink be configured to other region, for example, in Asia with 920MHz to 925MHz frequency band?
  3. Can wireless M-Bus be configured to other region, for example, in Asia with 920MHz to 925MHz frequency band?
  4. If I want the longest possible transmission distance, over 1km for example, which SimpleLink stack or technology should I choose?  I want to configure SimpleLink MCU to compete with LoraWAN.

Yours faithfully.

  • Hi,

    1. Easylink is part of example demos showcasing various ways TI radios can be configured for RF link.

    2. Various world regions have their own specifications for radio compliance governed by their local regulatory bodies e.g. FCC, ETSI, ARIB, IC etc. Our radios meet these       requirements as long as our reference designs are followed closely.

    3. I am sure it is possible but will check.

    4. You can use the following tool for range estimation when using TI radios https://www.ti.com/tool/RF-RANGE-ESTIMATOR.

I am afraid TI radios, at the moment, are not LoRA compatible. You can find TI proprietary long range modes in SmartRF studio tool https://www.ti.com/tool/SMARTRFTM-STUDIO
