CC1312R: Can user specify the short address for each sensor in TI15.4?

In TI15.4 stack, is it possible for the user to manually assign the short address for each sensor?

My customer wants to manually map the short address to the physical location in the network, but it seems the short address can only be assigned by collector. Is there a way to specify the short address before association?

    Hi Shuyang,

    The assignment of short address to a device is the part of association process defined in the specification. It doesn't seem like the short address can be user assigned in a 15.4 network.

    Thanks for the reply, I found the code in cllc.c assigning the short address.

    The customer needs to map the sensors to physical locations, if the short addresses are assigned, do you have any suggestion about how to achieve the requirement?

    Hi Shuyang,

    If the customer knows which sensor will be deployed at which location, maybe the source address from the association request can be used during the assignment of short address. The association request has the extended sensor address which maybe used while assigning a short address to it. 

    But the address is still assigned by the collector during this association process.
