Original question:
We have developed a custom board using the CC1310RHB.
VDDS and VDDS_DCDC is connected to 3.3V.
VDDS2 is connected to 1.8V, but this raises the voltage on VDDS2 to 2.2V.
The datasheet does state that VDDS2 > 1.9V, if VDDS > 2.7V.
So is it not possible to use both 3.3V and 1.8V on the CC1310, or am I misunderstanding something ?
Richard, CC1310 supports split rail, see below (it's the CC13x2 series that doesn't)
It's not clear from the CC1311R3 datasheet if this supports split rail. Also the datasheet refers to:
but 11.3 is "11.3 Factory Configuration (FCFG)" which doesn't make too much sense.
So is it not possible to use both 3.3V and 1.8V on the CC1310, or am I misunderstanding something ?
Jakub: Your understanding is correct. If I remember correctly at least the sleep current will be out of spec if you use 1.8 V/ 3.3 V.
No. You would have to reduce VDDS less than 2.7V for VDDS2 = 1.8V
alternatively VDDS at greater than 2.7V use 1.9V for VDDS2
Alternatively use CC1311x.
