LAUNCHXL-CC26X2R1: LAUNCHXL-CC26X2R1: EnergyTrace

Part Number: LAUNCHXL-CC26X2R1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ENERGYTRACE

Hello,

I'm using the LAUNCHXL-CC26x2R1 and want to use Energy Trace via command line tool stune. I already able to measure currents. Now I have one question is it also possible to disconnect the JTAG pins and maesure the current? I guess that they are connected default.

  • Hello Sebastian,

This is possible. To measure the current, disconnect the jumpers for 5V, RXD, TXD, RESET, TMS, TCK, and the LED jumpers. Keep the GND, 3.3v, and the XDS110 Power jumpers connected. Here is an image of board with a circle around the jumpers that need to be removed:

With this setup, EnergyTrace will be able to measure current. For more information, please visit this link

    Thanks,

    Isaac

  • Hello Isaac,

Thanks. But what I mean is it possible to disconnect/disbale JTAG pins by SW? I still want to have the JTAG jumpers connected so that I can program the CC26x2. But if I measure current I guess that there is an error with connected JTAG pins.

  • Hello Sebastian,

There is no way to disable the JTAG pins via software. You can disconnect the jumpers to measure the current then reconnect them when you would like to program. Otherwise, you can connect the ARM cable connections in between the SWO pins and the XDS110 Power with an ARM cable. To do this, all jumpers would need to be disconnected. Below is a picture of where the ARM cable connections are on the board.

    Thanks,

    Isaac
