CC1352P: internal Cap array on P version

Part Number: CC1352P

Hi there,

the cap array is limited to use in some of the cases, address as below words in the HW consideration doc. a little bit confusion. could you clarify?

1. I want to double confirm is it China band AND 20dBm? or what ever band is used under 20dBm configure, the internal cap is not recommended to use?

i.e. if EU/US band + 20dBm, can the internal caps be used?

2. about the "capacitors to Zero". Does it mean no Delta (delta value=0) or the cap value=0pF? looks there is no way to make internal cap to 0 based on Table 6-1. Cap-Array Delta.

#define SET_CCFG_MODE_CONF_XOSC_CAP_MOD 0x1 // Don't apply cap-array delta

The internal capacitor array can be used in most use cases, but it is recommended to use external crystal loading capacitors and setting the internal XOSC tuning capacitors to zero for systems targeting compliance with ARIB STD T-108 and Chinese regulations in 470 – 510 MHz frequency band as well as when using the +20 dBm PA. For information on how to set the internal XOSC tuning capacitors, see Section 6.4.

thanks.

BR. Albin

  • Hi Albin,

    1. The recommendation is to always use the xtal load caps with the P devices (20 dBm) since this will lower the crystal spurs (n x 48 MHz).

    2. SWRA640 section 3.1.1. will be updated with the following text:

    The internal capacitor array can be used in most use cases, but it is recommended to use external crystal loading capacitors and setting the internal XOSC tuning capacitors to minimum value.
