CC1350: single chip loraWan and wMbus solution

Part Number: CC1350
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: WMBUS

Hello,

We are in the process of developing a smart meter that will feature dual communication capabilities supporting both Wireless M-Bus (wMbus) and LoRaWAN. Our aim is to use a single chip for this purpose, with the advantage of sharing the same antenna. In this setup, LoRaWAN takes precedence over wMbus in terms of priority.

For selecting suitable components for this project, we are considering chipsets that offer integration of both wMbus and LoRaWAN functionalities. Additionally, we are looking for antennas that provide optimal performance across the frequency bands used by both protocols.

Could you please suggest specific chipsets and antennas that align with these requirements?

Thank you.

  • Hi,

We do not have a chipset that supports both wMbus and LoRa. There are many disadvantages with the LoRa topology which we do not recommend to use.

Please look at the PHYs available for the CC1354P which is widely used in the field today.

    Thanks,

       Richard
