CC1352P7: BeagleConnect Freedom is unable to connect to a WiSUN network.

Are you sure that your code runs correctly on the BeagleConnect Freedom? I have not investigated the BCF schematics & pinout, but are you using the TI XDS & CCS (or IAR) IDE to debug on this board?

Yes, in fact using the ti-wisunfan-pyspinel tool I can validate that the device is in operation, and with the routerstate command I can see that it finds the network because it goes to mode 2, it is authentication but it never passes this step.

Could you run a Mass Flash Erase on the BeagleConnect Freedom, and then flash ns_node again ? We want to make sure we do not have any previous network data stored in there.

Can you tell us how long you have waited for the board to connect as well?

Thank you for you replay.

I tired to erase the flash previuosly using ti-wisunfan-pyspinel again but had no effect using the nverase command, I also tried to erase the flash using cc1352-flasher.py, I don't have a JTAG connector available to do it via JTAg but as soon as I can do it I will notifiy if it works.

at the moment i have left the device for a couple of hours and it doen't make the connection.

It usually takes several minutes to join a Wi-SUN network.

While you are waiting for the connector (maybe, you could solder wires to , can you tell me what compiler, SDK version, and CCS version you are using?

Also, can you run a BANK_ERASE operation from the serial bootloader, and then reprogram the firmware? You may not need to order the connector if this works.

For ns_node I used a beagleplay how ns_br

Yes, in fact I am using the script to program the unit via Serial, I am also using the -e argument to erase the flash. I don't know if this argument has the same function as BANK_ERASE.

I looked at the cc1352r sources, and it indeed makes use of the Mass Erase command: https://github.com/beagleboard/cc1352-flasher/blob/main/src/cc1352_flasher/cli.py#L567-L577

Other question. Can the LP-STK connect? Are we certain that all the devices are configured to use the same PHY?

I have applied the mass erase using the script as you indicated.

I have loaded the code ns_node in the beagleconnect and the ns_br in the beagleplay and this is the result.

On the left we have the beagleplay and on the right we have the beagleconnect.

I am using the https://github.com/TexasInstruments/ti-wisunfan-pyspinel/tree/release script to control the radios.

The problem is that the beagleconnect (right side) does not pass the authentication step. (step 2)

I am looking at the BeagleConnect schematics and I think I may see some issues there.

On the ns_br firmware, in the SysConfig file, can you change the output power to 10 dBm, if it is already at 20 dBm? Do the opposite if the power is not already at 20 dBm.

Then please lower the output power to 10 dBm. I think the problem may lay in the antenna switch configuration of the BeaglePlay.

If you say there is indeed no modification at all in the projects, then it is good. Although the link points to 5.20.00,52, I assume you are still using 7.40.

The CC1352P7 Launchpad circuit differs from the BeagleConnect Freedom.

So the SysConfig requires modification.

I also hope this can be solved soon.

I suggest a shortcut to this problem.

We can customise Sysconfig GUI for Connect Freedom circuit.

Starting point is a Sysconfg GUI for CC1352P7 Launchpad.  We can select NONE as the new board type.

I got the BeagleConnect Freedom to communicate with one of our LP-CC1352P7 launchpads using SmartRF Studio, but not yet with Wi-SUN. There is definitely some issue with the antenna switching pattern.

So the default mikrobus Pin mapping on the "BeagleConnect Freedom" is not valid any more, is it?

The default LP-CC1352P7 pin mapping is indeed not valid on the BeagleConnect Freedom. You can still use the pins mapped to the Mikrobus connectors though.
