Part Number: CC1310
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC1190,
Tool/software:
In our project, we have designed two variants of boards with CC1310 - Normal range board and Long range board which has CC1190 extender as well
We are facing an high current issue of 340-350mA on the input supply of some of the long range boards. CC1310 is heating on these boards. Ideally the current range of the same should be 23-24mA (as observed in the working boards). We have not seen similar issue in the Normal range boards.
While debugging we removed L1 inductor which is between DCDC_SW and VDDR net label and observed that supply current reduced to 14mA.
Also, we found one anomaly - the reference design (see attached file) available on the website shows the usage of both the supplies from internal DC/DC Converter and Global LDO for the VDDR. On contradictory, in the technical reference manual (CC13x0, CC26x0 SimpleLink Wireless MCU Technical Reference Manual (Rev. I) - Section 1.3.13.1.2) it is mentioned that when Global LDO is used, DCDC_SW pin should be left floating (only one of the two options should be used).
Also while testing we observed different voltages on DCDC_SW and VDDR pin after isolating the L1 inductor. On DCDC_SW we are getting 1.13V and on VDDR we are getting 1.69V in both cases - working board and board with issue.
Portion of the schematics of the board is as below. Kindly guide us on why some boards are taking high current on the input supply line and heating as compared to the working boards.
