CC1312PSIP: 802.15.4 Protocol Failed Associate/Pairing..

Part Number: CC1312PSIP

Tool/software:

Hi Team 802.15.4,

My customer has the following questions..

I have been struggling with an issue related to the TI 15.4 protocol.  I am trying to pair the devices up using the radio by removing the current device registration, starting a new network, and opening it.  On the other side the pairing does an associate function.  What can happen is that the remote radio that does the associate will fail to pair with an access denied message.  I am not sure how to stop that from happening.  Also, I had allowed the orphan to reestablish in 500ms instead of the 5 minutes which initially worked, but now will stay orphaned and sometimes reestablish the connection.

Thanks, Merril

  • Hi Merril,

Is this E2E thread from your customer or is it just coincidence that the two are so similar?  Anyways, please have your customer list the SDK version they are using, describe what changes they've made to the default sensor/collector projects, and provide a sniffer log of the erroneous behavior.

I'm not certain what their process is for "removing the current device registration".  If they've removed the sensor entry on the collector then the sensor will also need to dissociate and/or remove NV flash (through APIs or by holding BTN-2 while powering up the LP) in order to perform a fresh rejoin.  I'd like for the customer to describe their exact procedure so that we may replicate, explain the root cause, and discuss possible workarounds.

    Regards,
    Ryan
